Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson)

Introduction

It's been a little over 10 years since the Harry Potter series came to an end on the big screen, and in that time, the three young actors who starred in the films have grown up in front of our eyes.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson started their careers as child actors and were cast in the lead roles for the Harry Potter movies when they were just 11, 10, and 9 years old, respectively. Over the course of 10 years, they each grew up in front of our cameras, maturing from young children into talented young adults.

Now, in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the final Harry Potter movie, we're taking a look back at the Harry Potter years with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter

You probably know Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. He was only 11 years old when he was cast in the role, and he spent the next decade of his life embodying the character onscreen.

Radcliffe has said that he was "lucky to have survived" his Harry Potter years, and I can imagine that it was a pretty intense experience. He went through a lot of growing up in the public eye, and I think he did an amazing job of portraying a character that millions of people looked up to.

Now that the Harry Potter series is over, Radcliffe is trying to break away from the "Harry Potter" label and establish himself as an actor in his own right. He's done some pretty amazing work in the past few years, and I can't wait to see what he does next.

Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley

You know Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, the lovable sidekick of Harry Potter.

What you may not know is that Rupert was actually cast in the role pretty late in the game. In fact, he only had a few days to prepare for his audition after the actor who was originally chosen dropped out. But Rupert was up for the challenge and nailed it.

In fact, Rupert became so close with Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson during filming that they're all still good friends today. In fact, Emma once said of Rupert, "He's definitely the most relaxed out of all of us on set. He's just like a big teddy bear."

Emma Watson as Hermione Granger

You know Emma Watson as the brilliant Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies. But did you know that she had to audition for the role?

Emma was up against some tough competition, but she won the part after wowing director Chris Columbus with her performance. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Emma was just 11 years old when she started filming the first movie, and over the years she's grown into a remarkable young woman. She's a talented actress, of course, but she's also a humanitarian and feminist who's spoken out on a variety of important issues.

So what's next for Emma? She's currently studying at Brown University in the United States, and we're sure she'll continue to make her mark on the world.

What the Harry Potter Movies Meant to Them

Do you remember the first time you watched the Harry Potter movies?

They were such a phenomenon, weren't they? Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson became household names, and for good reason. They were all incredible in their roles.

But what did the Harry Potter movies mean to them? Daniel Radcliffe has said that playing Harry Potter was life-changing. "The first day of filming I was really nervous," he said. "But then I got there and had this amazing sense of belonging."

Rupert Grint has said that he was "a bit lost" after finishing the Harry Potter movies. "I had no idea what I wanted to do," he said. "I went through a bit of a rough patch."

Emma Watson has been a bit more outspoken about her time on the Harry Potter movies. She's said that she felt like she was "working all the time." But she's also expressed her gratitude for the experience. "It completely rocked my world and changed my life in so many ways," she said.

How Their Lives Have Changed Since Harry Potter

You may be wondering what the Harry Potter trio has been up to since the last movie came out. They've all been quite busy, that's for sure.

Daniel Radcliffe has starred in a number of plays and movies, including the Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and the horror movie The Woman in Black. Rupert Grint has taken on a few more comedic roles, like voicing a character in the animated movie Postman Pat: The Movie and starring in the TV series Sick Note. And Emma Watson has continued her work as an activist and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.

But they've all stayed close friends, and they regularly get together to watch movies or just hang out. In fact, Daniel Radcliffe even tattoos Rupert Grint's name on his bicep!

Conclusion

It's been over ten years since the last Harry Potter movie was released, and the actors who played Harry, Ron, and Hermione have gone on to do some amazing things. If you're a fan of the Harry Potter movies, then you'll definitely want to check out some of the other projects that Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson have been working on.

So, what are you waiting for? Go check out some of their other work!
